The campground is located in the park and is a great base for exploring the trails, canyons, and other attractions. The sites are mostly level, but the layout is a bit wonky and some of the sites are quite close to each other. There is a camp store on property and a canoe livery across the road where you can get your float on. The campground staff was really good at keeping the noise down, and the nearby trails offer plenty of hiking opportunities. The outer edge campsites provide beautiful views of the woods and are pretty secluded from other sites. This campground is great for those looking for a relaxing and rewarding trip - perfect for Shinrin-yoku. It is also a short drive from Chicago (3 hours?) making it a great weekend getaway.

From The Campground

Turkey Run State Park is a beautiful park located southwest of Crawfordsville, Indiana. The park offers deep, sandstone ravines, aged forests, and scenic views along Sugar Creek. Visitors can explore the park's trails, including the Ladders Trail, which is a very rugged trail that takes hikers between the steep walls of both Rocky and Bear hollows. The park also offers camping, cabins, an inn with an indoor pool, a nature center, fishing, playgrounds, tennis, and more.
