What others are saying
Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell, IN is a huge and mostly woodsy campground, with several loops and mostly well-spaced sites. There are 124-E-Only sites, 7-E/W/S sites, and most sites have a canopy of tall shade trees. The campground is well-maintained, and there are water spigots within the campground and at the entrance station. There is also a two-lane dump station at the parks entrance. Pets are allowed on a leash. The park has lots of trails to walk, and schedules dozens of family-friendly activities throughout the summer camping season. The pioneer village is beautiful and really something to see with staff playing as villagers of the period. The park has its fair share of notable features, including the mill house, village, museum, trails, and lake among other amenities. The park offers camping without laundry facilities and park Wi-Fi. Most sites will accommodate RVs up to 30ft, and big rig RVers should use the parks registration website to verify that the site selected has a parking pad that will accommodate an RV over 30ft. At some sites, Verizon cell and hotspot range from 0 to 1 bar, OTA TV has 5 flickering channels, and satellite access is blocked by tall shade trees. Overall, Spring Mill State Park is an attractive campground with many amenities, including back-in and pull-thru sites, picnic shelters, a pool, playground, fishing, biking, outdoor tennis courts, a camp store, and miles of hiking trails.

From The Campground

Spring Mill State Park offers a powerful illustration of the link between the natural and cultural worlds. The park today continues to illustrate how nature shapes us and how we shape our environment. Visitors can explore this story in the park’s four interpretive facilities—the Pioneer Village, Nature Center, Grissom Memorial, and Twin Caves Boat Tour—and see it reflected on the landscape as they hike the trails.
