GenieSummary

Brown County State Park is a beautiful, heavily wooded campground located in Nashville, IN. It offers a variety of camping options, from tents to pop-ups to larger rigs and trailers. The trails are long and deep into the natural environment, creating a secluded and peaceful atmosphere. The campground is divided into several sections, with Buffalo Ridge being the most popular for motorhomes. Sites are electric only and vary in size, with some having limited space for a tent and no grass, just dirt. The sites are mostly wooded and secluded, providing plenty of space for entertaining with friends around the fire pit. There are two dump stations for the entire park, and a 5 mile long, winding stretch from the entrance to the furthest campground. The park also offers a lodge with food and coffee, a swimming pool, and a Nature Center with educational sessions. Prices are $30/night for electricity, a very well worn table, and a fire pit. Cellular service is weak but can be improved with a booster. The park is dog friendly, with a kennel located nearby. There is also a great selection of shops and restaurants in Nashville.

From The Campground

Brown County State Park is Indiana's largest park, encompassing nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges, and fog-shrouded ravines. The park is nicknamed the “Little Smokies” because of the area’s resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains. The park offers large campgrounds, hiking and mountain biking trails, interpretive services, a saddle barn for guided horse rides, and a separate horseman campground with 70 miles of horse trails. The rustic Abe Martin Lodge offers accommodations that include motel rooms, cabins, dining and conference facilities, and an indoor water park. The surrounding county and nearby Indiana town of Nashville are famous for their unique shopping, dining, arts and crafts, history, entertainment, and outdoor adventure opportunities.
