From The Campground
Owen-Putnam State Forest offers a variety of hiking trails, including the moderate Poplar Top trail and the short and moderate Fish Creek trail. The forest also features horse trails, with a scenic 9.8 mile Bridle Loop, and mountain bike trails that are part of the Bridle Loop. Visitors can enjoy the Horse Campground, pioneer cemetery, and Sandstone Bluff, which offers views of a 50-foot sandstone bluff and waterfall. Hunting is also allowed in the forest, so visitors are advised to wear hunter orange or other bright clothing while on trails during hunting season.
