. The campground is located in Hoosier National Forest and is easily accessible from IN37. It offers 13 primitive campsites, each with a fire pit, picnic table, and a double lantern hook. All sites are pay on the honor system and there is a pit toilet. The lake is a short walk away and offers a great spot for kayaking, fishing, and hiking. The Mogan Trailhead is located north on IN37 and offers 24 miles of intersecting trails shared with horse riders. The Saddle Lake Trail Trailhead is located at the boat ramp and is a 2.2 mile hike around the lake. The campground is secluded and quiet, with dark nights and plenty of wildlife. It is a great spot for a weekend getaway or a longer camping trip.

From The Campground
Saddle Lake Recreation Area is a primitive campground located in the Hoosier National Forest. The campground offers 13 campsites with vault toilets and campfire grills. The lake is a small but excellent place to fish for panfish in southern Indiana. The site is deeply wooded and gives the feeling of being tucked in amongst the forest and hills. You will likely see many of the birds and animals that call the forest their home so bring your binoculars and tread softly!
