From The Campground

Pike State Forest offers primitive camping on a first-come, first-serve basis with pit toilets and seasonal drinking water available. The forest also offers recreational activities such as hunting, fishing, picnicking, bird watching, and hiking on its firelanes and bridle trails. The Hog Branch Trail, Lookout Trail, and River Trail offer varying levels of difficulty and scenic views. The forest is home to a diverse range of plant and animal life due to its varying topography from hilly uplands to low bottomlands. The Patoka River is accessible for fishing with a valid Indiana fishing license. Hunting for whitetail deer, turkey, squirrel, fox, and raccoon is also available with a valid hunting license. Hikers and horseback riders are advised to wear hunter orange or other bright clothing during hunting season.
