GenieSummary
Ouabache Trails Park is a hidden gem nestled in the woods near Vincennes, Indiana. It is a clean and well maintained park with 35 RV sites and 9 tent areas. The roads are a bit narrow, but completely usable. The sites are heavily graveled and not always level, but the camp host is helpful and friendly and can move you to one of the premier sites if available. The utilities are on the wrong side for every other campsite, but the water and electric connections are all working. There is a big playground area nearby for kids, and the park is quiet and peaceful. The restrooms and showers have been recently renovated and are air-conditioned. There is a pay laundry attached to the restroom/shower building. Wifi is available but the connection is poor. Satellite reception is good, and the area is full of history. The campground is a great value at $20 a night, and is worth the search to find it.
From The Campground
Ouabache Trails Park is one of the six properties maintained by Knox County Parks. It is a wonderful wildlife and plant life preserve that offers camping, fishing, hiking, and naturalist activities for families. The park is home to Fox Ridge Nature Park, which is located at the site of the former Fox Ridge Golf Course. Visitors can enjoy the unique natural characteristics of the park and make a day of it with family picnics and other activities.
