Tippecanoe River State Park is located in North Central Indiana and boasts a well-established campground with 112 electric sites and a primitive tent campground by the river. A horsemans campground is also available. While none of the campsites offer views of the river, the shade trees in all the sites are a plus. The campground has two dump stations and two comfort stations, with Station A having been recently renovated. Accessible sites are available, but avoid sites near the pit toilets. Trail access is available from the campground, but fishing is reportedly poor. While it may not be an exceptional park, the river and well-maintained campground make it a decent choice for camping.
From The Campground
Tippecanoe River State Park offers a variety of camping opportunities that include primitive, electric, camper cabins, horse sites, and youth tent areas. The park has 23 miles of trails, 9 miles of which are for hiking only, and 14 miles of which are a combination of hiking/horse trails. All are rated as easy to moderate. Visitors can also enjoy fishing, boating, cross country skiing, and interpretive naturalist services. The park has several historic structures built by the Works Project Administration (WPA) in the 1930s, including a 90-foot fire tower that offers visitors an outstanding view of the surrounding countryside. Tepicon Recreation Hall is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and is an ideal location for weddings, family reunions, and company picnics.
