Lake Anita State Park is a beautiful state park located in Anita, IA. It features a very friendly ranger and volunteer staff who are always ready to assist campers. The park has a paved path that goes completely around the lake which is perfect for a nice stroll, bike ride, or jog. The campground is terraced so every site has a great view of the lake which makes it perfect for enjoying nature. The park also features a nice playground for kids, huge basketball court, and outdoor movies in season. Firewood is available next to the host site for just $5 for an 8-stick bundle and payment is self-service. The bathroom and showers are well-maintained and there is average level of privacy between campsites. While there isnt a lot to do in the area, its a great place to break up a long road trip or for a quick overnight stay.
