What others are saying about this campground
Bellevue State Park is a two-part park located south of Dubuque, Iowa. The Dyas Unit hosts the campground, offering 45 camping sites with 31 featuring electrical hookups with 20/30/50 amp. The sites are gravel and grass, fairly level, and somewhat close together, with water standpipes dispersed throughout the campground. The park also features clean restrooms and showers, a dump station, and numerous hiking trails with three overlooks of the Mississippi River and Lock and Dam #12. The Nelson Unit has a nature center and butterfly garden, as well as room for picnicking. The town of Bellevue is nearby, with several good restaurants and a microbrewery. The park is a great place for a quick one-night stay, with beautiful views, plenty of shade, grass, and room to walk pets. The park host is friendly and monitors daily incoming and outgoings, and will inform campers of bad weather. The campground is free and clean, with warm showers, although the water only lasts for 20 seconds.
