Sand's Timber Recreation Area is a 235-acre park located in Taylor County, Iowa. The park features a 76-acre lake stocked with bass, channel cat, and panfish. There are 7 modern campsites for rent, as well as primitive camping options. The park also has a 2-mile hiking trail on the west side of the park and allows public hunting except in the camping/picnic areas. Only electric boat motors are allowed on the lake. The park is located west and north of Blockton, just follow the signs west on County Road J55 for about 1/4 mile, go north on Yellowstone Avenue for 1/4 mile and turn west into the entrance. The park is 1/4 mile west of Yellowstone Avenue.
