This campground is a great place for kids and adults alike. It is located in Burlington, Iowa and is a great option for travelers passing through the area. The sites are large enough to disconnect with extra parking, and each site has a covered picnic table and fire pit. The lake is great for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, and there is an outdoor skating rink next to the lake. The campground is surrounded by a swampy wildlife management area and is very shady with lots of cottonwood trees. The seasonal campers are friendly and helpful, and bait and supplies can be bought right on the grounds. Unfortunately, the water is unsafe to drink and the rest rooms/showers are clean but old. The garbage bin was overflowing and the sites are primarily for local/long-term folks, making it poorly maintained. Despite this, it is a good price and is a nice and quiet place to stay.
