What others are saying about this campground
There are lots of trees so maneuvering a big rig would be problematic. Rock Creek Marina & Campground is a county park located in Clinton, Iowa, situated along the banks of the Mississippi River. The campground offers 13 sites with electric hookups, sporadic water spigots, and one dump station at the entrance. There are also cabins available for rent, as well as boats (kayak, canoe, paddleboat) for rent. The campground also features a camp store, a nature center, a shower house, a pontoon river cruise, a visitor shop with food/drink, a mini museum of the local wildlife, a playground, and a Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center. The campground is a great place to enjoy nature and the stars, but it is not FHU. There is also a risk of flooding due to the rising Mississippi River, and the area can be buggy depending on the season. Cars fly through the area, creating dust clouds and unsafe conditions for kids, and there is no campground map or person to guide you to your site. Taking a shower on a 45* morning and only having lukewarm water was not pleasant. Primitive tent sites, fire rings/grills, and wood for fee are available.
