Swan Lake Campground is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. The lake and surrounding green space areas are beautiful and offer plenty of activities, such as frisbee golf, canoe and kayak rentals, and a paved walking path. The RV sites are small and not designed for larger RVs, but they offer full hookups with 30/20 amp electrical service, water, and flush sewer. There are two bathhouses with showers, and good Verizon reception for both WiFi and phone service. The park is pet friendly and has plenty of semi-isolated sites for dry camping or tents. There are also buffalo, rescued bald eagles, and a pair of whooping cranes on site, as well as a nature center. The town of Carroll is only 3 miles away and has plenty of amenities.

Swan Lake State Park is a 510-acre multi-use area, including a 110-acre lake, managed by the Carroll County Conservation Board. The park is surrounded by wooded area home to deer, wild turkey, small mammals, and a variety of birds, making it popular for wildlife viewing. The park has the largest and most diverse campground in Carroll County with 44 full-hook up sites, 46 electric and water sites, 22 electric sites, and a large area for tent camping. Other amenities include two shower houses, firewood and ice sales, campground shelter house, dump station, boat rentals, and campground hosts. The park also has two cabins available year-round.
