This campground is a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts, situated on a beautiful lake with a paved bike/walk path and plenty of outdoor activities. The park is relatively new, so the trees are small and there is not much shade, but the sites are well spaced and level, with plenty of room for RVs and tents. There is a kiosk for payment, and the bathrooms are large and private. The lake is great for fishing, and there are miles of biking and jogging paths. The nearby Blackhawk Park has a free shooting range, and the campground is just a short drive from downtown Cedar Falls. The park is also conveniently located off Highway 218 and is a great spot for a peaceful getaway.

From The Campground
Big Woods Lake Campground offers 55 full hookup campsites as well as a non-modern camping area and 3 cabins (1 modern and 2 rustic). The lake itself is 86 acres and 32 feet deep at its deepest point. The lake offers no wake boating and excellent fishing for largemouth bass, panfish, walleye and northern pike. The Cedar Valley Trail System surrounds the Lake offering visitors’ easy access to downtown Cedar Falls. Other activities include hiking, biking, fishing, cabin rental, wildlife viewing, and boat ramps.
