Clear Lake State Park is a family friendly campground located in Iowa, just a few miles from I-35. The park is conveniently located close to the beach, town and lake, which offers great fishing. The park includes a beach area, a beautiful lodge for rent, a pavilion for rent, and two boat launch areas. The campground is easy to access and features full hookup sites, electric hookups, and back up sites. The sites are spacious and grassy, although some have no trees. The park is relatively quiet even on holiday weekends due to the Park Rangers tight ship. The campground is also close to downtown and the historic Surf Ballroom, which hosts local and national talent. The lake is nice but there is a sign posted about water quality so swimming is not recommended. The playground has nice, safe equipment for the little kids, and the trail to the beach is clear. The dump station and rest rooms are closed during certain times of the year. The park is busy on weekends, but has security and police presence to ensure safety.

Clear Lake State Park offers diverse activities on one of Iowa’s most popular lakes. The 3,000-acre lake is a draw for boating, fishing and windsurfing. The park features 50 acres of open spaces and mature oak trees along with a highly popular campground. Several acres of picnic grounds with tables and grilles are available for day-use. The nearby town of Clear Lake is a summer tourist destination with numerous stores and restaurants.
