What others are saying about this campground
There is a beach, but no swimming allowed. The campground has a boat ramp, fishing pier, and trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The sites have electric, water, and sewer hookups and picnic tables. Lake Manawa Campground is a beautiful, newly rebuilt park located on one of the largest lakes in the area. It offers a variety of activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The campground has both back-in and pull-through sites with full hookups, 50 amp electric, concrete pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground is gated and requires a code for entry. It is a great location for visiting Omaha and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the campground has been closed since last fall and is not expected to open until 2021. There is limited over the air TV and the bathrooms are reportedly very dirty. The campground also has a boat ramp, fishing pier, and trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The sites have electric, water, and sewer hookups and picnic tables. Swimming is not allowed at the beach, but there are plenty of shady sites to enjoy.

From The Campground

Lake Manawa is one of western Iowa’s premier spots for boating, hiking or just relaxing outdoors. More than 1,500 acres surround the lake, originally constructed in 1881 after a Missouri River flood. It continues to be a major outdoor recreation center for thousands of visitors. The park offers camping, hiking, biking, fishing, boating, swimming, and a large ADA accessible playground.
