What others are saying about this campground
Bathrooms were ok but showers were not hot. This campground is a great spot for outdoor activities such as river tubing, kayaking, fishing, biking, and hiking. The campground is near Upper Pine Lake and the nearby town of Eldora, which has groceries, gas, and restaurants. The campground has been recently updated with nice bathroom facilities, individual shower closets, and new shared bathroom spaces. The campsites are spacious, some with views of the lake, and the roads have a 35mph speed limit. There is a large lake nearby with more hiking and swimming areas, as well as a golf course. The cabins are nice and have a stone fireplace, small kitchen, and bathroom. Unfortunately, the lake quality is low and swimming is not allowed, but there are plenty of other activities to enjoy. The campground host is friendly and helpful, but only available on the weekends. The campsites are close together and not very shady, but for $15 its a great deal.

From The Campground

Pine Lake State Park is a hidden gem with wooded trails, deep ravines, and scenic lake views in the midst of Iowa’s rolling farmland. Visitors can hike a variety of trails, fish in the waters of Upper Pine Lake, Lower Pine Lake and the Iowa River, stay overnight in one of four cozy cabins or camp in the park’s campground. The park also offers two shelters on Upper Pine Lake that can be reserved for special events.
