The parks large unhook/hook up area and wide, well-maintained roads make it easy to maneuver larger RVs and toads. All the sites are concrete, level, and wide, surrounded by level streets and sidewalks, with a nice pathway around the lake. The park has a fair number of seasonals who have kept their sites very tidy. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry are large and immaculate; making it a pleasant, relaxing place stay.

Deer Run Resort is a family-owned campground located in historic Elkader, IA. The campground offers 81 well-appointed concrete RV camping sites with easy hookups for water and sewage, as well as cottage rentals that sleep up to 6 people. The amenities include a large lake for walking and fishing, picnic tables, wooded areas for seeing wildlife, a state-of-the-art shower house with laundry facilities, and more. Activities include hiking and bicycling trails, water sports, and more. Guests can choose to dine in town or cook meals at the campsite. Alcohol is not sold on premises, but there are wineries and breweries to visit in the surrounding area. The campground is open from April 15th to October 15th each year and welcomes daily, weekly, monthly, or seasonal rentals.
