Kalona City Park Campground is a great place to stay for a night while traveling through an unpopulated area of Iowa. The campground is located in a nice, quiet rural farm community, and is right next to the city park and municipal swimming pool. The gravel sites are a little narrow, but are nicely shaded with large trees and provide plenty of elbow room. Each site is equipped with 50 AMP and water hookups. The bathroom and free showers are very clean and convenient. On cattle sale days it can be noisy, but otherwise the campground is quiet. The nearby city park offers plenty of activities for kids and adults, including basketball, tennis, volleyball, baseball and the city pool. There is also a cheese factory and Amish stores in the area. Wi-Fi is not available, but there is a single dump station and air channels. Caseys nearby has the best pizza from any gas station. The price is right for passing through town.

From The Campground
The City of Kalona Campground offers 38 first-come, first-served campsites with water and electrical hook-ups. The campground is open from April 15 to October 15 and offers a dump station for $10 per use. The cost of camping is $20 per night per space. Pets are allowed on a leash and pet droppings must be properly disposed of. Checkout time is 1:00 PM. Wifi is available through Kalona Cooperative Telephone Company.
