It is a beautiful campground with mature trees and lush grass. The Des Moines River runs along the campground and there are well-maintained walking trails beside it. All the sites are back-ins and the roads are wide, making it easy to back in. There are large dump stations by the entrance and drinking water is available there. It is an easy walk to the river and the boat launch is close by. There is good reception on phones (AT&T), MiFi (Verizon) and Dish TV. Each site has 50 amp and there is fresh water and a dump on the way in and out of the park. The camp pass also gets you access to the beach which is across the dam. Seniors with national park pass get in for half price. There is a playground equipment and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. It is a peaceful and scenic campground and close to the quaint town of Pella with fun shopping.
