Wanatee Park is a great campground located close to Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. It features two main sections, one with full hookups and one with electric and water only. The sites are roomy and well-maintained, with a variety of back-ins and pull-throughs, concrete pads, fire rings with grills, picnic tables, and spacious driveways. There is no office for check-in, but a camp host is available at site B5. The park has a dog exercise area, walking trails, a playground, and a dumping station. It is a great base for exploring the area, with reasonable prices and quiet, peaceful surroundings. There is no Wi-Fi or laundry, but the cell coverage is excellent. Weekends fill up quickly, so it is best to make reservations or arrive mid-week.
