GenieSummary
This family-owned campground is a hidden gem tucked away in a thicket of oak trees, just 10 minutes from town for supplies. It has a rustic feel and provides all the necessary amenities, including 50 amp full hook ups. The sites are bow in and spacious due to a slight slope, and the oak trees provide plenty of shade. Unfortunately, due to a derecho storm in August, the Big Treehouse and a number of the older, larger oaks had been blown down. Despite the limited amenities, the campground is a great place to relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere without distractions. It is also a good stop over for a visit to the Giant Tree House. The rules posted and printed are somewhat harsh and intimidating, but rarely monitored or enforced. Dogs must be kept on a leash when outside the rig. There are 3 community fire pits, but no campfires are allowed. Clear garbage bags are required for disposal. Tent campers will need to consider another option for using the bathroom or shower while the owner is away.
