Walnut Acres Campground is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway or an extended stay. Situated on a large acreage, it borders a large river and offers many pull-through sites. The campground has been affected by flooding in recent years, but has bounced back well. There is plenty to do for kids, including two playgrounds, free Friday movies, hay rides, fishing, beach, basketball, volleyball, and more. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming, and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The campground is clean, with the exception of occasional messes from some of the kids. On holiday weekends, there is a DJ and a dance for the kids to enjoy. There are also bare bones rental cabins and well-kept seasonal sites. The campground has great WIFI, and some sites may get satellite TV with a portable unit. There is also a laundry room that is being renovated due to water damage. The campground is usually busy on the weekends, but there are still sites available during mid-week stays. They also participate in the Tents for Troops program, where Active Duty military get free nights.
