The sites are all level and have electric and water hookups, as well as fire rings and picnic tables. The campground is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside to this campground is the trains that pass by several times a day. Shady Creek Campground is a great place to spend time fishing, watching sunsets, and paddling. Located near Wild Cat Den State Park in Muscatine, Iowa, this USCOE campground offers level poured pads for RV, electric, and nice fire pits. Clean restrooms with lots of hot water for showering, electric is 30/50 at each site, and water is dispersed throughout the campground. The road leading in is rutted, so take it slow. Cell service is poor for T-Mobile and the wait time for a call is 45 minutes. Sites are spacious and have 75x12 level concrete pads with gravel area for table, fire ring, and tent use. Enjoy watching the barge traffic go by on the Mississippi River, and download the free Marine Traffic app for a better view. Electric tower is easily accessible with steady 120 volts, good OTA television, and both cell and data service for AT&T and Verizon. Train traffic is minimal, with only a few passing by during the day. The campground is quiet and peaceful during the week, and more active on weekends.
