Island View is a great campground located in Mystic, IA. Its run by the COE and offers spacious electric-only camping sites with water and sewer available. The park is very family-friendly, which means it can be busy, so just be mindful of small children around the grounds. The sites are clean, well-maintained, generally level, and have ample shade. The park offers spectacular lake views, particularly during sunset. The main campground is quiet during weekdays, making it a perfect getaway spot. The facilities are clean, have modern amenities, and OTA TV reception is reasonable. Unfortunately, there are no water hookups, but water is available at numerous spots across the park. With its great value and fantastic views, Island View is undoubtedly one of the nicest campgrounds situated along Rathbun Lake.

From The Campground
Rathbun Lake Campgrounds offer six campgrounds around the lake, four of which are managed by the Corps of Engineers. The campgrounds offer level campsites with many amenities such as electrical hookups, lantern hanging posts, picnic tables, and fire rings. Shower buildings, sanitary dump stations, playgrounds, and fish cleaning stations are located in most parks. Entrance stations are located at most campgrounds and all campgrounds are patrolled routinely by Park Rangers and Appanoose County Sheriff's Deputies. The Buck Creek Marina Campground is a concession area managed by Rathbun Marinas. User fees are charged for camping in parks that the Corps of Engineers operates. The amount of the fee is based on the type of facilities provided.
