Timberline Campground in Waukee, IA is a well-kept campground with good management and accommodating staff. The lots are large and level, and the campground has a fun pool and quality facilities. It is close to the highway but still far enough away to feel secluded. Although some sites do not have any trees, the area is still beautiful with plenty of shade trees throughout the campgrounds. Construction is currently underway for a building and solar panels, but it did not bother campers during their stay. A neighboring outdoor shooting range can be heard during the day until 5 PM; despite this, it was not a problem for most. The laundry room is immaculate and well-stocked with quarters. Overall, its a great place to stay while passing through Des Moines metro.
