Little Bear Campground is a medium-sized, independently owned campground located off Exit 259 of I-80 East Bound. It is well-kept and quiet, with a few shaded sites, easy access to I-80, and close to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. The campground features wide, flat pull-through sites that are plenty long enough for motorhomes and towed vehicles, as well as level grass pads, mature trees, and full hookups. The campground is very attractive and comfortable, with a playground, game room, and a pool (in the process of reopening). The reception area is aged, but the sites are well-planned and offer plenty of space. The campground is a great stop-n-go spot for travelers, and is also suitable for longer stays, with nearby state parks offering boating, hiking, and picnic areas. The manager is very friendly and knowledgeable, and can provide assistance with finding the best site for shade and easy egress. The only downside is that the campground shares an entrance with a truck stop and dilapidated motel, which can be off-putting. Additionally, the area has not had any rain in a while, so the grounds can be a bit dusty.
