The sites are level, asphalt pull-throughs with night lighting, ample trash containers, water, 30/50 Amp electric service, tow vehicle parking space and access to fuel, Wal-Mart, and other downtown retail services. There is free city WiFi and a dump station on the grounds. The bathrooms/showers across the field are grungy and largely uncared for. There is no host/attendant, but an honor system box to receive payment is available. The park is connected to a large park with a golf course and baseball fields, so it can be crowded and noisy some evenings.

From The Campground

Santa Fe Safari RV Campground is a first-come, first-served campground located in Chanute, KS. The campground has 28 paved stalls with 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups, water hookups, and a dump station (for gray/black water only) located south of the public restrooms and shower facility. Tents may be put up to the south of the restrooms and shower facility, in the grassy area, at no charge but with a limited stay of 2-nights only. The campground is adjacent to the Lakeview Recreation Area and Santa Fe Park, which is the largest park in Chanute, providing a shady, scenic area for picnics. The park contains three playgrounds and special playground equipment including an old steam engine. Other facilities include a basketball court, six lighted ball diamonds, a sand volleyball court, a dog park, and a lake for boating and fishing.
