Walter Johnson Campground is a great place to stay for an overnight stop or longer if needed. Located in a city park in Coffeyville, it offers big rig friendly large pull-through sites and smaller back-in sites with 30 and 50 amp and water (no sewer but a dump station is close by). It is a quiet area, with a few campers living there full time or for work, but all seem to keep their sites clean and organized. The campground offers plenty of space and facilities to enjoy such as a ballfield, dusk golf, playground, pet area, and more. There are plenty of level sites with picnic tables at each one. Water and electric are available, but there are no other facilities. Showers and restrooms are available at the Walter Johnson park near the fairgrounds, but they are locked unless you ask the caretaker nicely. The roads and sites are gravel and can get very soft and muddy after rain. Cell and air card coverage for Verizon is excellent here. The closer you are to the fairgrounds buildings, the more water seems to accumulate on the sites. The daytime temperatures vary from highs of 25-60° and nighttime lows of 0-30°. The advertisement says 14 day maximum stay.

The Woods Campground has 56 spaces available with water and electric hookups, shower facilities, and a dump station. Rivercrest Campground has 62 spaces available with water, electric, and sewer hookups. Coffeyville Connection wireless internet is available for a fee. The campgrounds are open year-round.
