Walter Johnson Park is a sprawling campground located in the city park of Coffeyville, Kansas. It has over 60 camping sites, with both pull-through and back-in sites that offer 30 and 50 amp service and water (no sewer). There is a self-service pay station at the entrance of the park, and the cost is $8.00 per night. The park is big rig friendly and Walmart is less than a 5 minute drive away. The park is relatively quiet, with a few campers living there full-time or for work, but all sites are kept clean and organized. The maximum stay is 14 days. During the day, temperatures vary from 25-60° and at night 0-30°. The park has plenty of facilities to enjoy such as a ballfield, dusk golf, playground, pet area, and more. There is WiFi available for $2.50 a day or $5 a week, and there are picnic tables at each site. The closest laundromat is on the west side of town. There is an abundance of shade trees, excellent water pressure, and while most of the sites have 30 amp service, a few have 50 amp service. Unfortunately, there are no sewer hookups. There is a dump station in front of the showers, and a local honey wagon guy can be called for $15.00. There is also plenty of wildlife, such as squirrels and birds, and the park is conveniently located close to downtown and eateries, or up the road to Wal-Mart. Bring insect repellent and be aware that the showers are locked unless there is a city event or enough seasonal workampers check in.

Walter Johnson Park Campground offers two campgrounds, The Woods Campground and Rivercrest Campground, with a total of 118 spaces available on a first-come basis. The Woods Campground has 56 spaces available with water and electric hookups, shower facilities, and a dump station. Rivercrest Campground has 62 spaces available with water, electric, and sewer hookups. Coffeyville Connection wireless internet is available for a fee. The campgrounds are open year-round.
