What others are saying about this campground
Canning Creek is a small, 43-site campground located on Council Grove Lake, operated by the US Army Corp of Engineers. It offers a variety of reservable sites with electric and water hookups, including 24 waterfront sites with concrete pads, covered picnic tables, grills, lantern hooks, and fire pits. The campground also features a marina store, flush facilities, vault toilets, hot showers, and a playground. Canning Creek is ideal for swimming, fishing, and boating in season, and is close to many historical sites related to the Santa Fe Trail. Each site is well spaced out and has plenty of shade, and mobile WiFi and Verizon phone reception are available. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and the camp hosts are friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the dump station is unlevel and small.
