It is reasonably-priced, well-managed, safe, and offers essential amenities such as Big Rig sites, 30/50 amp electrical service, free wifi, swimming pool, game room, laundry, clean restrooms and showers. The staff are friendly and helpful, offering restaurant recommendations and assistance in finding a Mobile RV Tech when needed. Unfortunately, the owner can be quite aggressive and unprofessional, as evidenced by an incident where he slammed a shovel against the ground, dropping a ping ball size poop on the front steps of a camper after accusing them of leaving their dogs poop behind. The park is also quite noisy due to passing freight trains and highway noise from trucks using their exhaust brakes, but these are not items within management control. Despite this, the campground is still a great place to stay and offers a great value for money.

The park is open year-round and offers full hook-up sites, meticulously clean amenities, and a secure gated environment. The park is conveniently located near healthcare, restaurants, and local shopping. Guests can enjoy top-notch amenities, including a pool (open Memorial Day through Labor Day), the Marshall's Office, the General Store, and the Trail's End Bath House. The park is pet-friendly and offers spacious sites with picnic tables and trees. Gunsmoke RV Park is located in Dodge City, which celebrates its frontier past and offers a variety of attractions, including Boot Hill Museum, Gunfighters Wax Museum, and the Home of Stone Museum.
