El Dorado State Park - Bluestem Point camping area is a great place to camp for a peaceful weekend getaway. With over 1200 campsites, you can enjoy the lake and the surrounding nature in solitude. The campground offers a variety of amenities, including fire rings, grills, picnic tables, and a general store. Unfortunately, the bath house is not clean and many of the showers dont work. The parking pads are also not level, so campers should plan accordingly. Additionally, the camp host offers dog food and asks if you are homeless. The campground is close to El Dorado, which offers lots of amenities, and the Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese is a great option for a hot meal. The camp hosts are friendly and the park is clean. However, the man at the Bluestem Bait & General Store was very rude. Additionally, there is a bed bug infestation and burrowing bumblebees on the porch. Lastly, the Big Oak Campground in El Dorado State Park is shaded with huge trees, but the restrooms are not well-maintained and the campground rules are not enforced.

El Dorado State Park is a premier lake destination located in the Flint Hills of Kansas. With 2,000 acres of park and 4,000 acres of wildlife area surrounding 8,000 acres of water with 98 miles of shoreline, there are plenty of opportunities for fishing, boating, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The park offers a variety of camping options, including long-term camping facilities and small sleeper cabins. Wildlife enthusiasts can see a wide range of small mammals, white-tailed deer, songbirds, game birds, and waterfowl.
