Crawford State Park near Girard, Kansas offers a great camping experience for those looking for a peaceful getaway. The park is home to a beautiful lake, Farlington, surrounded by several small campgrounds. The campgrounds offer shaded campsites with concrete or asphalt pads, level sites, cement patios and picnic tables in good condition. There are several 50/30/20 sites with water, and the lake offers great swimming and fishing opportunities. The on-site restaurant is a nice perk, open Wednesday and Sunday for breakfast all day, and until 8pm. There is also a marina with boat slips and a small museum with historic info. The campgrounds are generally quiet and the people are friendly. Bathhouses are closed, but one bathroom is still open. There is also a dedicated storm shelter in the campground. The nightly rate includes an entry fee into the park, and there is an additional car pass fee of $3 a day.
