GenieSummary
This campground is an ideal spot for boaters and fishermen, located on the western banks of the Missouri River and the eastern edge of Leavenworth. It is easy to access the river for fishing and boating, and the spots are shaded and cool. After a day on the river, its easy to relax at the campground and cook up the days catch, or visit the city and dine at one of its many restaurants. The campground is small but has all the basics - picnic tables, fire pits, flush toilets and showers. It sits right on the river and has a nice view of the bridge, and although the camping spots are close together, it is very quiet and there is still plenty of space. The lakeside spots are the best, and the bathrooms are very clean. There is a steep entry into the park, and the train tracks are close by, but the price and views far outweigh the train noise. The camp hosts are great and very responsive, and the rates are reasonable. There is no WIFI, but cell service works well. There is a boat ramp at the camp entrance, and fishing is allowed with no permits on the bank. It is a great spot for a peaceful getaway.
