Elk City Lake is a beautiful lake located in Cherryvale, Kansas. The lake offers a variety of recreational activities including camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and hunting. The State of Kansas uses 11,680 acres of project lands for wildlife management and public hunting. There are 4 recreation areas at Elk City Lake, including Card Creek, Elk City State Park, Outlet Channel, and Overlook. The lake also offers amenities such as electric and non-electric campsites, fishing docks, fish cleaning stations, and a beach for swimming. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the precipitous rock bluff that marks the north margin of the river for several miles above the dam site. Elk City Lake is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and offers a COVID-19 Recreation Services Status program to ensure the safety of visitors. Age and disability discount passes are available for visitors.
