Clinton Lake, Bloomington East Campground, Cedar Ridge Loop is a great campground for those looking for a convenient getaway near Kansas City, Lawrence, and Topeka. The campground offers a variety of activities such as boat ramps, beach, hiking/biking trails, full hook-up sites, tent camping, playgrounds, and a frisbee golf course. The sites have lots of shade, a large picnic table, and a view of the lake. There are two dump hook-ups, potable and non-potable water, a TV antenna, and HotSpot WiFi for the ROKU. The campground has clean bathrooms and showers, however, there are large swarms of gnats that can be a nuisance. There is also a bug zapper and citronella candles to help keep the gnats away. The campground is also home to lots of wildlife and migratory birds. Unfortunately, the campground can get noisy due to partying and loud trucks, and there is a lot of trash that can be found on the beach. The grass is also very long, leading to a tick problem. The fee/info booth is also closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Despite these drawbacks, Clinton Lake, Bloomington East Campground, Cedar Ridge Loop is still a great campground for those looking for a convenient getaway near Kansas City, Lawrence, and Topeka.
