Sylvan Campground is a beautiful US Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the spillway of Wilson Dam. It is situated in a grove of cottonwood trees and is surrounded by breathtaking views. The campground has 25 sites, each with electric and water hookups, cement picnic tables, and fire rings. The sites are spacious and level, and can accommodate any size camping unit. There is a boat launch area located about 5 minutes away from the campground, and a short hiking trail nearby. The campground is very quiet during the week, but can get crowded on the weekends. Verizon downloads are available, and there is a dump station located near the entrance. Senior America the Beautiful Pass holders can receive a discounted rate. The campground is a great oasis in the middle of a highway desert, and is a great place to stay while passing through Kansas.
