There is a playground and a beach, but the beach was closed due to high water. The sites are level, and the roads are paved. The sites have electric, water, and sewer. The campground is close to the lake, and you can easily access the boat ramp. The campground is well maintained and very clean. Hillsdale Lake is a great campground for a family getaway or fishing trip. It has spacious sites with plenty of trees for shade, and most of the sites have 50amp power and water. There are several camping loops to choose from, from primitive to full hookups with concrete pads for wheelchair access. The lake offers great fishing and kayaking opportunities, and there is a swimming beach and boat ramp nearby. The campground host is friendly and laid back, and the facilities are clean and well maintained. There is a playground and amphitheater for the kids, and the campground is close enough to the city to see stars at night. The only downside is that some of the bathrooms can be a bit dirty, and there is no restroom or storm shelter on site.

From The Campground

Hillsdale State Park is a 12,000-acre park and wildlife area located between Spring Hill and Paola, Kansas. The park features a 4,500-acre lake with 51 miles of shoreline, offering abundant fishing opportunities for walleye, catfish, largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including whitetail deer, bobwhite quail, squirrel, rabbit, beaver, muskrat, and a variety of waterfowl. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, and horseback riding on the park's many trails, including the 32-mile Saddle Ridge equestrian area. The park also features archery and shooting ranges, as well as camping facilities.
