What others are saying about this campground
We drove around the lake & stopped to look at the old buildings & ruins. We also drove to the Monument Rocks & New Jerusalem Badlands. Lake Scott State Park is a great place to camp if you are looking for a peaceful, scenic spot with lots of history. The lake is beautiful and the campground is well kept. There are plenty of sites to choose from and the amenities are decent. The nearby historical sites and Monument Rocks make it an ideal spot for a weekend getaway.

From The Campground

Scott State Park is a stunning oasis of natural springs, deep wooded canyons, craggy bluffs and early American history. The 1,020-acre park surrounds the 100-acre, spring-fed Scott State Fishing Lake, and a 160-acre wildlife area lies west of the park. The park is an ideal setting for camping, boating, swimming, hiking, hunting, fishing, and wildlife observation. The Steele home, the dwelling of the original settlers on the area, has been preserved much as it was 100 years ago. The park also boasts the northernmost pueblo in the U. S. - El Cuartelejo.
