The sites are paved but many are not level, so be sure to bring leveling materials. Electricity and water are shared between sites, so be sure to bring an extension cord. The bathrooms are decent, but may be a bit cold or infested with spiders. The campground is situated in a beautiful forest with winding roads and spacious RV sites. The campground host is hardly ever around, but the washers and dryers at the bathhouse work great. Be aware of low-hanging limbs and narrow roads when driving in. This campground is a great place to stay and explore the area, and is perfect for those who want a more upscale camping experience.

Lake Barkley State Resort Park is a year-round destination located near Land Between the Lakes. The park offers a variety of lodging options including 120 rooms and four suites in the lodge, 13 cottages, and 79 campsites. Guests can enjoy a range of activities such as swimming in the indoor pool, playing 18 holes of championship golf, hiking 6 miles of trails, fishing or boating from the marina, and more. The park also features Windows on the Water Restaurant, which serves local meats and produce when available and now serves Kentucky wine and spirits.
