What others are saying about this campground
General Butler State Park is a great camping destination in Kentucky. It offers a variety of activities, such as scenic overlooks, a mini golf course, playgrounds with new equipment, boat rentals, and a train ride for the kids. The trails are well-kept and the playground equipment looks new and safe. The bathrooms are clean and the workers are friendly. Unfortunately, the golf course is not operational and there are a lot of tree stumps left from the emerald ash borer beetle. The campground is close to a busy road, so its not ideal for those looking for a peaceful, deep-into-the-woods experience. There is free wifi, but the speed is questionable. Verizon and T-Mobile have good reception, but the sites can be close to each other with limited privacy. The sites are paved and have a picnic table, fire ring, and electrical post. There is no patio space, and the water hookup is far away from the site. The bath houses are just okay, and there is no hot water. The campground is close to amenities like a grocery store and places to dine out. The sites can be tight to navigate with bigger rigs, and there are many tight turns on the interior roads. If youre just passing through, its a good spot, but if youre looking for a longer stay, its best to get a site closer to the entry gate.
