This campground is a great place to stay for those wanting to explore the Bourbon heritage sites of Frankfort and Louisville. It offers 33 sites, all with full hook-ups, concrete pads, steel picnic tables, fire pits, and grass between sites. The public bathrooms and showers are secure, well-lit, and immaculately clean. The park is easy to navigate, with wide asphalt roads and pull-through and back-in sites. Its also conveniently located near the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers, with connecting trails right from your back door. The campground is well-maintained and is perfect for families, with a small playground and a large deck with picnic tables overlooking the Kentucky River. There is also a camp host on-site to check on the park and keep it beautiful. There is a manager on-site if a problem should arise and they drive around the park throughout the day monitoring campsites. The only downside is the scrap yard next door, which can be noisy at times, but it is easy to ignore.
