What others are saying about this campground
Pennyrile State Park Campground is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts! With activities such as camping, cabins, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, mini golf, and a 75 mile driving loop connecting several Kentucky parks, theres something for everyone. The campground has a great swimming beach, hiking trails, and a camp store that sells firewood. Theres also a large sandy beach with picnic tables, grills, a playground, and concessions, as well as canoe, kayak, and paddle boat rentals. The campground offers a variety of sites, including equestrian sites, and the campground host is very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms have hot showers, but for an extra fee you can get an equestrian site. The sites can be challenging to back in with a camper due to their sloped nature, so you may need to buy longer extension cables and a longer water hose. The park also has a lodge and a swimming pool, though you have to drive a bit from the campground to get to them. The park is great for families, and is generally quiet and clean. However, the beach is free to the public, so it can be crowded and not family friendly. The sites are also small and difficult to navigate.
