This campground has recently been renovated and is a great place to stay. There is a variety of camper storage units, from older, broken-down looking units to more modern and comfortable ones. The pool is nice and open to memberships for outside visitors. The sites are spacious and the staff is very friendly. However, the shower house was inoperable and the only bathroom was a port-a-potty. There were also some loud noises and visitors on the camp site. The campground is located on a slope near the Kentucky River and the grass can get muddy during rainy days. The big trees provide shelter from the rain.

Camp Nelson RV Park offers full and partial hook up sites, primitive sites, laundry room, two bathhouses, swimming pool, playground, boat ramp to KY river, WIFI for nominal fee, camp store, dump station, and pavilion. Rates are $39.00 per night, $235.00 per week, and $450.00 per month. Electric heat use in winter is $75.00 extra. Extra people are $10.00 per person, per night.
