The campground is situated on Nolin River Lake and offers spacious sites with level, pea-sized gravel, picnic tables, fire rings, and lantern posts. The sites are well-separated and provide plenty of privacy. The lake shore sites offer beautiful views, but can be noisy if the park is fully booked. There is no cell service, but the night sky is breathtaking with almost zero light pollution. The campground is close to Mammoth Cave and Cave City, and the park office can provide driving instructions that include a free ferry ride across the Green River. The camp store is small and only carries limited items.

Nolin Lake State Park is a 333-acre park located along the northern edge of Mammoth Cave National Park in Edmonson County. The park offers 32 campsites with hookups for water and electricity, along with 27 primitive campsites. There is a public beach, shower and laundry facilities, a playground, and the lake has an abundance of bass, catfish, crappie, and walleye. Visitors can enjoy activities such as camping, hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing, picnicking, and swimming. The park also offers recreational programs and has a nature center with wildlife displays.
