The Natural Bridge State Park and Red River Gorge is a breathtaking destination in eastern Kentucky. The park offers a variety of activities such as hiking, rock climbing, zip line, kayaking, canoeing, and camping. There are several trails, including the Sheltowee Trace, that run through the park, and the area has various local restaurants that make for a truly unforgettable weekend away. The park is touristy, but has something for everyone, including families and those looking for a secluded camping experience. There are shady campsites, large campsites, different options for staying over (lodge, cabins, RV, tents), picnic sites throughout, fire pits at camp sites, shower house, and lots of staff. There is also the Natural Bridge trail, Devils Gulch area, Hoedown Island, the Skylift, and Fat Mans Misery, all of which offer stunning views and plenty of opportunities to explore. The park is kept clean and well maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Cell phone signals are hit and miss, so make sure you plan ahead for connecting with folks. There is also a Hemlock Lodge with free wifi if you need to use the internet.
