This campground is located in a beautiful setting on Cotile Lake, with great fishing and water sports activities. It recently reopened after hurricane Laura, but is still in need of some repairs and renovations. The bath houses are run down and barely operable, and some of the buildings are still in disrepair with yellow caution tape. Sites 1-7 have full hook-ups, while others have water and electric. The erosion around the pads is so bad that one could take a nasty fall just stepping out of their RV/vehicle. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the lack of security could be a concern. The views of the lake from many of the sites are spectacular, with Spanish moss hanging from the trees. There is a boat dock if you decide to go fishing, but the nearest store is about 20 minutes away. This campground is a great place to go for peace and quiet and to get away, but it could be a lot better with some renovations.

Cotile Lake Recreation is a man-made impoundment located in the uplands approximately 15 miles west northwest of Alexandria, Louisiana. The recreational facilities on Cotile Lake are among the finest in Central Louisiana. There is a large area cleared and zoned for swimming with complete bath house facilities nearby. There is a water skiing area that is cleared and snagged for safety of the skiers. The picnic and camping areas are modern and complete. Cotile Lake is very popular among groups of campers or campers traveling in caravans.
