This campground is perfect for those looking for a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path camping experience. Located in the middle of nowhere, the campground offers great cell service, a dumpster, porta potties, and a water spigot kit outside the entrance. The beach is wide and made of crushed shells, and there are plenty of people fishing and camping. The area is frequently patrolled by local deputies, and there are plenty of local flavors to explore on the weekends. However, there are no hookups, and the nearest real services are about 35 miles away. Be aware that Hurricane Laura caused a lot of devastation and debris in August of 2020. The Cameron Ferry also turned campers away, as it said their 21 ft Chinook Concourse would get torn apart by the very steep ferry loading approach.
